GOODBYE GLOBE and SMART! HELLO TELSTRA! Read how DUTERTE will IMPLEMENT this SCENARIO!

It's not unknown in Asia and the whole world that Philippines is one of the only 4-5 countries with the SLOWEST internet speeds and MOST EXPENSIVE rates. President Duterte knows this is not right and only adds burden to the poor Filipino people. Since he was Mayor in Davao, he has experienced it himself apart from a deluge of complaints from DavaoeƱos regarding both Smart and Globe's poor service. Now that he is President, he will have none of it. He has hundreds folders and computer files as evidence of both network's falling short on good customer service and competitive rates. By end of the month, he will open his doors for a intensive and extensive talk regarding Telstra's wide variety of internet and mobile service offerings for the Philippines. By mid-August, Duterte would have already inked a deal with Telstra and would start immediately installing their own towers and using Smart and Globe's as well. Duterte further said that providing poor service and charging the people with expensive rates is equivalent to corruption that is why he is very serious about inviting Telstra into the country. It is curious to note that earlier this year, former President Noynoy did not help Telstra in pushing through their plan in partnering with San Miguel Corporation becuase of disagreements in commercial arrangements. San Miguel Corp., is owned by the Cojuangcos and, of course, Noynoy is a Cojuangco. SMC had plans to roll out its own telecommunications company. That's probably why they gave Telstra a hard time coming with a win-win agreement.

  16. Uhm, is this news or wishful thinking? As I remember, SMC and Telstra should have combined forces but sadly, for reasons that escaped me, it never push through...

    ReplyDelete
  17. Probably Telstra will be a 3rd player or partner with either of these 2 existing giants cuz I don't think the President no matter how bold he is would do such a drastic action in just kicking out 2 well known industry giants closing them and make thousands of Filipinos jobless...

Godbless us all!

  30. Globe and Smart you have a very very bitter pill to swallow kahit ayusin nyo ang inyong services, the Filipino mentality is to try what is new so outright magshoot up ang Telstra and mag-spiral down by 4G's ang inyong patrons ha ha ha!!!! Karma Karma Karma Chameleon you come and go you come and go.

  34. Before to much ooohh and yeayh... Prices will be high and not competitive in Australia home broadband starts at 99 AUD/month (3,680PHP) for basic packet 500GB/month 30Mbit while PLDT can offer more for less.... but PLDT urgently needs to invest in his fiber network and make it available nationwide. Price of copper is approx. 5,800USD/ton.... calculate how many tons of wire is hanging in the Philippines and a fiber network will be practically for free... including the visual benefits of not seeing the ugly jungle of wires. Note that the fiber network easily can also be used for digitalTV and telephone, furthermore all carriers can share the same fiber network = less investment and less cables to be used. I hope the new government will force the exciting players to cooperate.
